The Russian Flagship Program is an innovative, federally funded program for highly motivated undergraduate students of any major to reach a professional level of competence (ACTFL Superior level of proficiency) by graduation. The program combines intensive study of Russian on the UW-Madison campus and overseas, culminating in a capstone overseas program in Kazakhstan that includes a professional internship.
The Russian Flagship is a collaborative initiative of the Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic+ and Language Institute, with the Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia and the SLA PhD Program. It is funded by a grant from The Language Flagship of the National Security Education Program.
