About the workshop
Moving from Advanced to Superior (ILR 2 to ILR 3) proficiency is a substantial jump and poses unique challenges for both learners and teachers. Learners must become more independent and teachers can help them become more efficient by guiding them to become self-reflective about their strengths and weaknesses in the various modes of communication, guiding them to useful resources and activities, and providing targeted feedback. In this workshop for language educators, we will discuss overall strategies, as well as practical suggestions for helping learners achieve professional proficiency in their target language.
Workshop participants are encouraged to review this online module in advance. The module, developed for language educators with funding from The Language Flagship, is focused on the characteristics of the ACTFL Superior/ILR 3 level of proficiency in the presentational mode of communication. The module is a helpful general overview of ACTFL Superior/ILR 3 in general, however, not just in the presentational mode.
