Humanities 1651

This is a 3-part film series that explores Russia and America through film. Each viewing will include a brief introduction and a moderated discussion after the viewing. The second film to the 3-part series is, Cold War Road Show (2014), directed by Robert Stone and Tim Toidze.

In the fall of 1959, at the height of the Cold War, Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev toured the United States for 12 days at the invitation of President Dwight Eisenhower. For both men, the visit was an opportunity to halt the escalating threats of the Cold War and potentially chart a new course toward peaceful coexistence. This documentary chronicles Khrushchev’s tour of the U.S.
