International Studies and World Languages
Global Ambassadors
In partnership with the Division of International Studies, Global Studies, and International Academic Programs, the Language Institute is pleased to offer this new program for 2007-08. Through Global Ambassadors, current University of Wisconsin-Madison students share their international experiences with high school peers through individual presentations and panel discussions at high schools. We are currently offering this program to schools in the Dane County area, and also exploring the possibility of connecting with schools from further away through use of distance learning technology.
Contact Language Institute Outreach Coordinator Wendy Johnson if you are interested in exploring the possibility of UW students visiting your school.

Lodi High School, November 15, 2007
Current UW-Madison students Tifanny Iliadis and Marissa Mastrangeli along with Language Institute Outreach Coordinator Wendy Johnson traveled to Lodi High to be part of their International Education Week Speakers Festival.

Tiffany Iliadis then spoke about her experiences learning Chinese and studying and working in China. Marissa Mastrangeli wrapped up the presentation with a discussion on her pre-college language learning experiences, travel in Mexico and Italy, and her decision to come to the UW-Madison because of its strong international focus. She also highlighted some UW Madison programs and organizations in which a student can pursue international interests.
