College for Kids is a summer program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Office of Education Outreach

 June 25-July 3, 2007

The Language Institute presents:

A is for Apple, M is for Manzana, and я is for яблоко

Fifth graders from around Dane County e xplore their world through language!  Each day, they learn about a different language and culture.

Carolina Bailey, graduate student in the Department of Linguistics and the Doctoral Program in Second Language Acquisition, serves as facilitator each day for the first two weeks. The last week, Alice Astarita, graduate student in the Doctoral Program in Second Language Acquisition, acts as facilitator. Guest presenters introduce students to diverse world languages:
