Workshop for UW Language Instructors

Special Needs and Second Language Acquisition

Dr. Laurey Martin-Berg
Distinguished Lecturer, Department of French and Italian

4:00-5:00 pm
Monday, February 13
1418 Van Hise Hall

Abstract
Because the study of foreign languages, literatures and cultures is central in preparing students to be thoughtful and productive citizens of the world, we cannot afford to leave any group(s) marginalized. This workshop will explore ways in which second language study can be made a more rewarding and successful experience for students with various types of special needs, including physical and learning disabilities.

Registration not required.
